AO Spring is in the air, and with it comes a fresh chance to reassess and reenergize. I wanted to share a little bit about what’s been inspiring me lately and the changes I’m making to better connect with myself and my family.
Here’s my plan – I have this little voice inside lately that is saying, if you don’t slow down, you are going to have a heart attack. I have felt like my plate has been too full to even sit down and think about what I am going to cut out of my life to slow and calm life down.
I’ve taken some significant steps already:
- Reduced Caffeine: I cut down on caffeine. It was giving me a false sense of what I could do, and by reducing it, I now hear, see, and feel more clearly.
- Reduced Commitments: I’ve also reduced the number of commitments I make. While it sometimes feels like I might be letting people down, I know I’m gaining more time, connection, and happiness with my children and family.
Now, when a child asks for help, play, or a chat, I first think of all the things I need to get done, but I can easily set them aside to give my children the undivided attention they deserve. It feels good. I am less frazzled, less irritable, and I am sure my children appreciate me far more now.
What’s YOUR plan? Post it here so we can support and encourage you along the way, especially when times get hard. Let’s uplift and inspire each other as we bloom this spring!
